Stephanie Murphy '00

An immigrant and refugee from Vietnam, Stephanie Murphy is the first woman in her family to attend college. During her time at William & Mary, she majored in economics, was a member of the Chi Omega sorority, a Japanese House resident and a research assistant. She also studied abroad and served on the Student Alumni Council. "My education at William & Mary prepared me to be an an effective engaged citizen, and to be somebody who cares about this country and where it is going," she says. 

2020欧洲杯24强Stephanie is the first Vietnamese-American woman to have been elected to Congress and currently represents Florida’s Seventh Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Before being elected, she worked as a college instructor and as a national security specialist in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
